March 23, 2007, Newsletter Issue #34: Self-Certification for Interior Designers

Tip of the Week

Self-certification for interior designers is another piece of legislation designed to regulate the use of a title such as “licensed interior designer”. Unlike the title act, which allows the state to govern the use of a title, the self-certification act allows an independent professional organization to oversee use of a title. To date, only the state of California has adopted self-certification for interior designers.
