May 18, 2007, Newsletter Issue #42: Corporate Interior Design Professional

Tip of the Week

There are many types of interior designers. Corporate interior design is one design field specialty that offers many career opportunities. If you decide to go into corporate interior design, you'll most likely work for an interior design firm or an architecture firm where there will be numerous job opportunities. You'll have the chance to work on projects like planning office interiors for everything from the inside of a high-rise building for Fortune 500 companies to the loft space of a budding entrepreneurial office. Corporate offices often have their own in house architecture and interior design departments to upkeep the design of their spaces. You'll find a challenging yet rewarding role in this design field specialty as you navigate through building codes, engage in space planning, select furniture, finishes, and lighting fixtures, and balance budgets and interact with clients. If you're in school, get the most mileage you can out of your education, by working on corporate projects in your design studio.
