It may be a tempting way to learn how to begin a career in interior design, especially if you are looking for a flexible option. However, be wary of any self-directed course, especially if it is not an accredited program or run by a reputable school. According to the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID), a typical self-directed interior design correspondence course does not meet the minimum educational requirements for someone to practice interior design.
